Treatment programming is adapted to meet a patients individual needs. Participation in all aspects of the treatment program is required. The philosophies of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are an integral part of the treatment offered at the ATC. Patients are invited to attend self-help meetings at both the facility and in the community. WOMEN/PREGNANT WOMEN:There is a need to provide women with a specialized setting to deal with therapeutic issues specific to their recovery. Addicted women frequently have a history of abuse, suffer from more physical disorders and tend to be less likely to complete treatment than addicted men. Consequently, all women are assigned to all-women’s group therapy once per day, and women’s focus group four times per week. Bedrooms for women are located in a limited access wing of the facility which helps to protect privacy. Women are assigned to female primary counselors. Pregnant patients, in addition to the above, are provided specialized medical treatment and prenatal care which is delivered with Stutzman Addiction Treatment Center staff present and involved. Specialized needs for rest, outside health care appointments and community residence placement are met as part of the program. For further information contact Victoria Brennan, CASAC, Admissions Coordinator.PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN (PaTCH) Program:Stutzman Addiction Treatment Center believes a person should not have to choose between their child’s needs and their own treatment needs. In response to this, SATC has a unique program geared to parents who have custody of their child and are unable to find appropriate care for them when coming to an inpatient program. Private bedrooms allow for a patient to have their child accompany them to treatment and attend day-care services on the grounds of the center. Parents work with staff members during the evening to establish a schedule for their child and learn new parenting techniques. We also allow parents to have a child visit overnight on the weekends. Parents with more than one child in their custody, need to discuss options available with the admissions coordinator.TRAUMA SURVIVORS:Patients with a history of trauma are identified through self-report or trauma assessment. Trauma informed care runs throughout the program and in addition, specialized groups are incorporated into the program. Groups are geared toward skills training and processing. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are used to assist and enlighten work with patients.PROBLEM GAMBLING:Individual and group counseling for those affected by problem gambling. Clinical staff on site have specialized problem gambling training and/or credentials and are able to provide direct clinical services as both an individualized issue and as a co-occurring disorder. Patients do not have to have a primary substance abuse diagnosis to be admitted for problem gambling treatment services. To make a referral or for more information about problem gambling inpatient treatment, please call the Admissions Office at 716-882-4906.
